Happy Aloha Friday everyone!
Aloha Friday is Hawaii's version of "casual Fridays," but with a unique history and twist. A day when people are encouraged to wear aloha attire, Aloha Fridays were first promoted by the Hawaii Fashion Guild in 1962 as a means of encouraging people to wear aloha shirts and muumuu in the workplace. In a campaign called "Operation Liberation," apparel makers gave two aloha shirts to every member of the Hawaii Senate and House.
